Race History

The full-size Ford Capri RS2600 #4 was entered by Ford Tuning Bernhard Grab for the DRM Nürburgring 500 Kilometres on 2 September 1973.

Driven by Karl-Ludwig Weiss, the Capri started from 108th on the grid and finished 13th overall, completing seven laps of the 22.835 km Nürburgring Nordschleife. The car was classified 8th in Division I.

The period car is documented with white and red Grab/Heuer colours and Dunlop tyres. BRM reproduces the distinctive competition appearance in its 1/24 scale Capri RS2600 tooling.

Technical Notes

The BRM189 uses the S-417 BRM BLUE 19,000 rpm motor with an S-420 12-tooth nylon pinion and S-419 33-tooth spur gear, producing the documented 12:33 transmission ratio.

The Capri chassis uses separate front axle sections to provide negative front-wheel camber, while the solid rear axle runs in two ball bearings integrated into the aluminium rear axle holders.

BRM189 is supplied ready to run as an analogue 1/24 slot car and is compatible with suitable analogue slot racing systems.
