NSR 3040 Shark 20K EVO Short Can Motor

The NSR 3040 Shark 20K EVO is a competition-oriented short-can slot car motor offering a balanced combination of speed, torque and controllability. Rated at 20,000 RPM and 150 g·cm of torque at 12V, it is designed for a wide range of NSR and compatible short-can chassis applications.

The 3040 is the bare motor version. Motor wires and a pinion gear are not included, allowing the appropriate gearing and wiring to be selected for the individual chassis and racing application.

3040 Configuration Options

NSR offers the Shark 20K EVO in several configurations. The standard 3040 is the bare motor. The 3040IS is supplied with wires and an inline pinion, the 3040F with wires and a sidewinder pinion for compatible Scalextric/Fly applications, and the 3040N with wires and a sidewinder pinion for NSR applications.

Racing Applications

The Shark 20K EVO is intended as a balanced performance motor rather than an outright high-RPM motor. NSR lists the 3040 for applications where smooth, controllable performance is desirable, and it has also been specified for NSR Classic Series racing configurations.

NSR's racing documentation lists the 3040 as the Shark 20 EVO at 20,000 RPM and 150 g·cm. Its non-magnetic configuration also makes it useful where racing regulations restrict or prohibit motor magnetic effect.
