One of Australian touring car racing's most recognisable muscle cars, the Ford XY GT-HO Falcon takes its place in Scalextric's Legends collection with the C3696. Finished in blue and carrying race number 12, this 1/32 scale model represents the Falcon driven by John Goss at the 1972 Bathurst 500.

John Goss – 1972 Bathurst 500

The 1972 Bathurst 500 was a challenging race, with rain playing a major role in proceedings. John Goss had demonstrated the Falcon's pace during practice and qualifying, but his race was ultimately cut short by engine trouble.

After an initial engine failure, the team changed the engine for race day. Despite Goss's determined effort in the wet conditions, the engine failed again on lap 24, forcing the #12 Falcon into retirement.
